Qormi is one of 68 primary administrative regions in Malta with a population of approximately 16,849 people making it Malta’s fifth-largest city. Its bordering towns are Marsa, Luqa, Żebbuġ, Siġġiewi, Ħamrun, Birkirkara, Attard, Santa Venera, and Balzan. It has both residential and light industrial areas, but the town’s core is still characterised by alleys and narrow streets. Ħal Qormi has been known as the centre of bread-making since the time of the Knights of St. John.
